No. CineFlicx has no sign-up and no login. Your watchlist, ratings, and history live on your device from the moment you open the app.
On the device itself, in the app's local database. Because there's no account, your library does not sync between an iPhone and an iPad — each keeps its own. This is a deliberate privacy trade-off: nothing about what you watch is uploaded anywhere.
Yes. Deleting the app removes its local database along with it, and since nothing is stored on a server there's no way to restore it. An iCloud or iTunes device backup taken before deletion will bring the library back when you restore the app from that backup.
Watch time is calculated from the runtime of the titles you've marked watched. Runtime is filled in when a title's detail screen has been opened, so items saved and marked watched without ever opening them may not contribute yet. Open the title once and the figure will catch up.
It shouldn't — anything marked watched is strongly demoted. If it happens, the title probably isn't marked watched in your library. Note that a title being on your watchlist is not the same as being marked watched.
From your own ratings and watch history, computed on your device. Genres you rate above your personal average get weighted up; titles you've seen get weighted down. With a new or empty library there's nothing to learn from yet, so early suggestions lean on general popularity and get more personal as you rate things.
CineFlicx shows ads, and that prompt is Apple's App Tracking Transparency request asking whether ads may use your device's advertising identifier. Choosing Ask App Not to Track is fully supported — you'll still see ads, they just won't be personalised. Nothing about your watchlist or ratings is used for advertising either way.
Only for weather-based suggestions, and only while you're using the app. Decline it and everything else works normally.
Film and TV data — titles, posters, cast, release dates, ratings — comes from TMDB, a community-maintained database. Streaming availability comes from JustWatch via TMDB and varies by country. If a detail is wrong at the source, correcting it on themoviedb.org flows through to the app. Email us if something looks wrong in the app but right on TMDB.
Availability is region-specific. Set your region in the app so provider listings match where you actually are, rather than defaulting to your device locale.
Check that notifications are enabled for CineFlicx in iOS Settings → Notifications. Reminders fire on a title's announced release date, and those dates do shift — if TMDB updates a date, the reminder moves with it.
Email the address above with the details listed at the top. If the app crashed, note roughly when — crash reports are collected anonymously and a timestamp helps us match yours.
See the Privacy Policy for exactly what the app collects and what it doesn't.
